Highmark Health Director, Workforce Planning COE in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania



This individual would lead the Workforce Planning Center of Excellence. The Workforce Planning Center of Excellence (COE) Leader oversees the end-to-end workforce planning capability within HMHS. This role manages demand forecasts on multiple horizons, understands the volume, skills, and availability of the existing workforce and oversees the match & deploy process. The Workforce Planning COE Leader reports to the SVP/CFO of HMHS Business Management & Finance. This job is responsible for the management and ownership of one or more components of the business management and finance scope of work. This may include, but not be limited to finance operations (pricing, customer controller), corporate controller (reporting, treasury, record keeping, accounting, GL maintenance, cost allocations, billing, accounts payable, investor and capital planning), and business operations (strategy, administration, contract management, analytics, workforce management). The leader will be responsible for formulating innovative business strategies, engaging key stakeholders, and seeing results through execution to enable to the business. Additionally, they will grow and develop a team of high performing professionals while managing to a budget.


  • Performs management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.

  • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

  • Owns and operates one or more functions within finance operations, corporate controller, and/or business operations. Defines strategy and delivers impactful results that further business objectives.

  • Actively engages and builds relationships with stakeholders across the business unit and the enterprise to understand customer requirements, aligns strategy, leverages resources, enables delivery, and maximizes value.

  • Ensures the implementation and adherence of government regulations, mandates, corrective action plans, and processes improvement initiatives.

  • Contributes thought leadership and industry expertise to strategic planning and execution for current and future products.

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


Bachelor's Degree- Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Science, or related field


Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Science, or related field



  • 7 years' of experience in finance, business management, and/or services

  • 5 years' of experience managing teams of professionals


  • 5 years' of experience in the technology services and/or product industry

  • 5 years' of experience in project management

  • Experience preparing financial analysis, recommendations, projects, and assessment of budget risk


Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, (Lean) Six Sigma
